"OUR PLAYGROUND"  IN INTER-BLOCK AREA OF BUBANJ SETTLEMENT

In the inter-block area of the settlement "Bubanj", near the stadium of FC "Car Konstantin", was opened the little corner for children sports and recreational activities. Thanks to the project of Palilula Municipality "Our playground" kids in this part of the village will have a place to spend their leisure free time and to engage in sporting activities. In the presence of many citizens, this playground for young people was opened by Boban Džunic, president of Palilula Municipality and Mr. Milan Pesic, member of the City Council. This and another 10 more projects on the territory of Nis were supported by the NIS company. In Serbia, in 2015, this company supported approximately 150 projects with the aim to improve the living conditions in local communities.

Within the Call for tender of Petroleum Industry of Serbia "To community together", among 152 projects, was approved and selected and the project of Palilula Municipality - entitled "Our playground". "We offered that in this inter-block area of Bibanj, which was once an illegal dump, adapt and create ground and courts for for greater availability of sports and recreational facilities for children and youth-Boban Džunić says, president of Municipality of Palilula. With the support of the Serbian Oil Industry NIS of 500,000 dinars and commitment of our volunteers from the Office for Youth, we get another landscaped and adapted area in the municipality without spending funds from our budget.According to our project activities Palilula is a leader in the region. We have a good team of project managers with experience in the NGO sector who regularly follow and implement all kinds of projects. Besides the "Neighborhood Programmes" of EU as one of possibilities for investment activity and improvement of the relationship between local communities, we compete with the donors on projects in our country, as is the case was with the competition of Petroleum Industry of Serbia. In this work, very much are significant the partnerships with the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities, and organizations of civil society.

In the Municipality of Palilula they point out that the project activity is very important in their work. According to the president Boban Džunić, from international projects, IPA-grants from the European Union, in the past have been provided more than 2.6 million of euros. Palilula Municipality for participation in projects, on this basis, generated around 40 milion of RSD. Projects financed by local donations have brought to the Municipal budget about 39 milion RSD. "Our municipality is the rating standard of living at the very bottom in Serbia. On this basis, we have the ability to attract huge amounts of money out of our budget for the social-humanitarian and investment activities. Unfortunately, since we - the city municipality, have the status of the territorial organization of the City of Nis, we perceive unilaterally, thorugh the average level of the City of Nis. And we are losing the opportunity to further contribute to the development of our community. That is why our Assembly unanimously requested the City of Nis to amend and supplement the Statute of the City, as is the case in Belgrade, in order to achieve even better results in our development - said Džunić. Management of Palilula in his work has set high standards in the provision of services to the citizens and has successfully passed the re-certification audit.
